How the ERL Leather Company came to be

Why teams switch

Meet the founder:

Hi! I’m Emily-Rose LeClerc, or ERL. I have lived, played, and worked in the Rocky Mountains for most of my life. In 2018, my favorite purse started to fall apart, and I started to look for a replacement. I never could find one that I LOVED and that fit all my requirements.

Finally, I drove to Calgary, picked up a hide, and decided to make my own! After 6- 8 months of blood, sweat, and tears, I finally created my ideal purse. I called it the Yetti purse after the nickname my husband has for me. He is Sasquatch, and by default I am Yetti. As I started to get positive feedback and some smaller commissions, I discovered my love for leather and passion for creating what I like to call practical masterpieces.

In 2019, I launched the ERL Leather Company to help others create their perfect custom leather goods. Without the 6-8 months of sweating, bleeding, cussing, and crying I worked through to get mine!

Now the ERL Leather goods offers custom-made leather goods as well as a few pre-made items. In 2025, I decided I was tired of bringing my sewing machine to the city to get serviced. So after much research, I traveled to the States and got certified in sewing machine repairs. Now the ERL Leather Company also offers sewing machine repairs and services for both residential and industrial machines, as well as sergers, multi-needle embroidery machines, and long arm quilting machines.
