I made this fur hat as a gift for my SO. I based the pattern for this hat on a hat he had before, which had started to fall apart. I made it specifically as a Christmas present, which I am happy to say I did manage to keep it as a surprise for him until the day of!
I made it with this lovely brown upholstery leather and added beaver fur to the side ear flaps. I made the ties with the same leather and lined the interior with rabbit fur. I also added a layer of wool between the leather and the fur. Making this a ridiculously insulated and warm hat!
This was the first hat I’ve ever made, and I believe it was a great success. It will definitely keep my SO warm during the coldest of winters… Plus, it’s ranking WAY up there for one of the best Christmas gifts I’ve managed to give!
