This project was a lot of fun! My client wanted a holster for his mare’s leg shotgun that would hang on the wall of his cabin and look pretty while doing it.
To protect the firearm slightly from the elements and temperature changes, I lined the holster with half-sheared sheepskin. We decided to carve it with the Spidsky Hrad castle from his hometime in Slovakia.
This carving was a challenge to get just right. We decided to keep the piece raw with dark brown antiquing and sewed it with a cream-colored thread. I dyed the edge in saddle tan to give it a little contrast. I love how it turned out!
